The Walpole Island Fire Department is asking community members to help preserve and share the department’s history.
In a public appeal, the department said it is seeking historical photos of the fire department and its members, information about its early days, names of past fire chiefs and members, details on when the department was established, and stories or memories connected to the fire service.
“No detail is too small — every contribution helps us honour the legacy of those who served before us and preserve our history for future generations,” the department said.
Residents who have photos, information or stories they are willing to share are encouraged to contact the department directly or respond through its social media channels.
