A student from Wallaceburg District Secondary School has earned top honours at a Royal Canadian Legion speech competition and will advance to the next round in Tilbury.
In a social media post, the school said, “She spoke, they listened, and she WON! A massive congratulations to our very own Ava for placing 1st at the Royal Canadian Legion Speech Contest! Next stop: Tilbury at the end of March for the next round.”
The student will compete in the next stage of the contest later this spring.
“We are so proud of you, Ava! Keep that Tartan spirit shining!” the post added.
