Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 28-year-old woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent Police Service said the warrant stemmed from an October 16, 2025, theft investigation at a retail store on McNaughton Avenue, where an individual allegedly fled on foot with merchandise without paying.
The accused had previously been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and was released with conditions, including a court date of November 18, 2025, which she failed to attend.
A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.
On February 23, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers located the accused on Wallace Street and arrested her on the strength of the warrant.
She was transported to police headquarters and is being held for bail.
