Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 25-year-old man is in custody following an aggravated assault investigation in Chatham.
Police say officers responded to a residence on Thames Street on Feb. 25, 2026, at approximately 10:49 a.m., where a man was found with multiple stab wounds to his legs.
Investigators determined the victim had been visiting the home when the accused arrived. While the victim was asleep in a bedroom, the accused allegedly entered armed with an edged weapon and stabbed him three times before leaving the residence in a cab.
The victim was transported to hospital by emergency medical services for treatment.
On March 2, 2026, police located and arrested a 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man. He was taken to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing. He has been charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with a probation order.
