Sarnia Police Service officials allege: Police say a man is recovering after a stabbing incident early Monday morning that led to two arrests and the execution of search warrants at two residences in Sarnia.
Officers were called March 2, 2026, at 6:29 a.m. to a residence in the 200 block of Devine Street, where paramedics were already treating a 36-year-old man suffering from a stab wound. Police were also advised that a suspect was believed to be inside the residence.
Upon arrival, officers contained the building and observed blood smears on the exterior of the front door. Occupants were removed from the home, and investigators determined the injured man had been hurt at another location.
The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, including a stab wound to the head, a black eye and other facial abrasions. He was transported to Bluewater Health for treatment.
Police say a trail of blood led officers a short distance to another residence in the 200 block of Vidal Street. That home was also contained, and occupants were ordered to exit. Two men were taken into custody after exiting with what police described as obvious blood transfer on them.
Members of the Criminal Investigations Division later executed search warrants at both locations, where two knives were recovered. Investigators believe an earlier physical altercation between the three men led to the stabbing.
A 60-year-old man and a 57-year-old man, both of no fixed address, were held for bail on charges including assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. The older man also faces a charge of disobeying a court order. Both were remanded into custody following bail hearings.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional or amended charges may be laid pending further medical information.
