Ross Annett

Annett: Wilfred “Ross” passed away peacefully at C.E.E. Hospital, Petrolia on Monday March 2, 2026 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of 68 years wonderful years to Ilene (Babcock) Annett.

Ross built a life grounded in love, hard work and quiet devotion to his family. Together they shared nearly seven decades of partnership, raising four children and creating a family legacy that grew to include 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren – each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

A life long farmer, Ross was deeply rooted in the land. He raised limousin cattle and grew hay, soybeans and wheat, dedicating countless seasons to the fields he cared for so faithfully. Farming was not just his livelihood, but his way of life. In addition to his work on the farm, Ross spent 32 years with Huron Construction and other road companies and businesses including CIL, Furlans and McGee Farm Drainage. He was known as a dependable, hardworking man who could always be counted on to see the job through.

He will be deeply missed and forever missed by his children Janice Annett, Jerry Annett (Karen), Brad Annett (predeceased 2022) his wife Jennifer, Bev Annett (Wendy); grandchildren Theresa Pumfrey (Lorne), Lindsay Huys (Will), Wayne Langstaff (Brooke), Laura Annett (Brad), Curtis Annett (Amy), Taylor Annett and Avery Annett; great-grandchildren, Kelly, Cameron, and Carter Pumfrey, Alex, Zoe, and Madelyn Huys, Eli Rhett and June Langstaff, Piper and Brock Annett. Also remembered by sisters-in-law Mary Rose Annett, Grace Babcock, and several nieces and nephews and his well loved donkey DooDah.

Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Leato (Stevens) Annett; sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Peter Kumpf; brother and sister-in-law Ernest and Carol Annett; brothers and sisters-in-laws Walter and Helen Babcock, Ron and Phyllis Babcock, Ken Babcock, and Bruce Annett. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses in the area hospital’s for their care and the PSW’s, nurses and physiotherapists that helped in his home. A special thanks to Brandy and Sheila.

The Annett family will receive friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, Friday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held tin the chapel on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 12 noon. A Private Family Interment will be held in Dresden Cemetery.
