OPP officials allege: Ontario Provincial Police say they are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision in the Lighthouse Cove area of the Municipality of Lakeshore.
Police said members of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police, along with Lakeshore Fire Department and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services, responded to the crash on Mariner’s Drive at about 9 p.m. on March 9.
A 78-year-old male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police did not release the name of the driver.
Members of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement are assisting with the investigation.
Mariner’s Drive has since reopened.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have observed the vehicle prior to the collision, witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage to contact police.
