OPP officials allege: Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate the homicide of a Windsor woman who was fatally stabbed earlier this month in the Town of LaSalle.
LaSalle Police Service said officers responded Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at about 9:30 p.m. to reports of an individual in medical distress at a residence on Todd Lane. When officers arrived, they found a woman with serious injuries consistent with a stabbing.
The victim was transported to hospital, where she later died. Police identified her as 45-year-old Nancy Grewal of Windsor.
Investigators say the victim had attended the residence on Todd Lane earlier that evening. Shortly before 9:30 p.m., as she was leaving the residence, she was confronted by an individual who stabbed her multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Police believe the suspect fled in a vehicle that had been parked in a laneway on the extension of 10th Street, north of Todd Lane.
The LaSalle Police Service secured the residence and requested assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police canine unit to track the suspect.
In the days following the incident, investigators executed search warrants at the residence on Todd Lane and at the victim’s residence in Windsor. Police said the occupants of the Todd Lane residence are not considered persons of interest.
Investigators believe the incident is isolated but are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police.
On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, the LaSalle Police Service requested assistance from the OPP. The investigation remains active under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, working in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
Police are seeking dashcam or surveillance footage and information about a vehicle that may have been parked in the gravel laneway on the north side of Todd Lane at 10th Street between 8:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on March 3. Investigators are also interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen vehicles parked in that laneway in the weeks prior to the incident.
