Sadly, and suddenly on March 14, 2026, a warm and sunny spring day, Mike left us doing one of his favourite things, walking in the park with his best friend and fur baby Scooby.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years, Janice, his two beloved sons Chris (Crystal) and Jason and his cherished grandson Jeff.
He is survived by his brother Brent (Kim) and his sister-in-law Kathie.
Brother-in-law to Pat Smith, Connee Hawke, Carol Woodcock, Glen Smith, Cheryl Deschamps and Linda Swain (Dave).
Mike also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and extended family.
Mike is joining his mother and step-father, Jean and Roger Harris, his brothers Donny and Randy, his mother-in-law Donna Smith and his brothers-in-law Bob Smith, Steve Hawke and Randy Deschamps.
Mike was a simple guy that loved the outdoors and gardening so at his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231).
His family would like to send out a sincere and heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in trying to save his life, including William who started CPR as well as all the police, fire and ambulance first responders.
