Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 19-year-old man is facing charges following an intimate partner violence investigation in Chatham, according to the Chatham-Kent Police Service.
Police say officers received a report on March 16, 2026, from a 19-year-old woman regarding repeated unwanted contact from the accused.
Investigators determined that, despite being told to stop, the accused continued contacting the victim through calls, messages and other forms of communication.
Further investigation revealed an earlier incident in October 2025 in which the accused allegedly assaulted the victim following an escalated argument.
The accused was located in Chatham and arrested. He is charged with assault and criminal harassment.
Police say he was transported to headquarters and later released with conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 20, 2026.
