Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham man is facing multiple charges following a robbery at a local business that left a staff member injured.
Police say officers responded to a theft on Grand Avenue West at approximately 4:25 p.m. on March 22, 2026, where a staff member was pushed to the ground while attempting to intervene.
A suspect was later located on Baldoon Road and fled, prompting a foot pursuit. Officers caught up with the individual on McNaughton Avenue West, where he became assaultive and non-compliant.
Police deployed a conducted energy weapon to safely take the suspect into custody.
A 28-year-old man was charged with robbery with violence, assaulting a peace officer and assault with intent to resist arrest. He was held for bail.
