Chatham man held for bail after allegedly breaching court conditions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 36-year-old Orford Township man is in custody after allegedly breaching court-ordered conditions in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said officers responded to a report of an unwanted man attempting to gain entry to a residence on Adelaide Street South at about 10:36 p.m. on March 23, 2026.

Upon arrival, officers observed a man knocking on the front door and attempting to make contact with individuals inside.

Police said the accused was subject to two separate court conditions prohibiting direct or indirect communication with a 34-year-old woman from Chatham.

He was charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking and transported to police headquarters, where he was held for bail.
