Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 25-year-old Chatham resident is facing impaired driving charges following a late-night traffic complaint.
Chatham-Kent police say officers responded to the area of Holland Avenue at about 11:24 p.m. on March 25, 2026.
The investigation determined the driver had consumed alcohol and was operating a motor vehicle. Police say the individual showed signs of impairment and was arrested before being transported to police headquarters for breath testing.
According to police, the test results indicated a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
The accused has been charged with operation while impaired — alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Police say the individual was later released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on July 7, 2026.
