Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 25-year-old man has been charged following a reported intimate partner violence incident in the city.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service say officers received a report March 29 at about 10:02 a.m. regarding an incident at a residence.
Investigators allege the accused assaulted a 20-year-old woman by throwing objects at her and choking her. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was arrested and charged with assault and two counts of assault causing bodily harm (choking).
He was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court May 19, 2026.
