Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 28-year-old Merlin woman is facing impaired driving charges following a two-vehicle collision in Chatham.
Police say officers responded April 4, 2026, at approximately 7:52 p.m. to a crash on McNaughton Avenue West near Sandys Street.
Investigators say the accused rear-ended another vehicle that was slowing to make a turn. Officers observed signs of impairment and arrested the driver.
Police say further testing resulted in readings above the legal limit.
She was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80. She was released with conditions and a court date of July 14, 2026.
