Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 44-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after police say he made threats during a dispute with family members while inside a moving vehicle.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded on April 15, 2026, at about 10:13 a.m. to a report of threats in the area of Manning Drive.
Police said the investigation found the man was involved in a verbal altercation with family members while travelling northbound on Charing Cross Road. During the incident, he allegedly became agitated, made multiple threats toward the occupants of the vehicle and engaged in erratic driving behaviour.
The man was arrested and charged with four counts of uttering threats to cause death.
He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 27, 2026.
