Marilyn McFadden

Marilyn Joyce McFadden went to heaven April 14th, 2026 at the Chatham Kent Hospice at the age of 94, to be
united with her late husband Nelson “Cleo” McFadden (2025) of 74 years.

She will be sadly missed by her children Barry(Jill), Jeff(Cindy), Pam(Ron) Myers and Dean(Mary) and her
grandchildren Stacey(Mike) Speagle, Greg(Tia) McFadden, Adam McFadden, Katie(Adam) Holmes, Ryan(Marcie)
Myers, Nicole(Dan) Veenema, Madeline(Sheldon) Veld, Chloe McFadden & Deanna McFadden and ten great
grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister Eileen Loftus, and sister in laws Betty McKerrall and Shirley McKerrall, Predeceased
by her her parents Edgar & Velma (Forsyth) McKerrall; her in-laws Roy & Hazel (Shaw) McFadden; daughter-in-law
Louane McFadden; sisters Kathryn(Grant) Forsyth, Shirley(Keith) Houston; brothers Fred & Murray McKerrall; sister
and brother-in-law Vern(Adorena) McFadden and Melvin McFadden.

Marilyn began her “faith” journey with Ester Merritt introducing her to the Louisville Baptist Church. Once married,
she then moved to the 8th concession, joining the Lindsey Road United Church where she and Cleo remained
members for 40 years. Her faith then took her in 1992 to the Dresden Community Church where they continued
their worship until moving to the Oaks Retirement Village in 2024.

If Marilyn wasn’t on the road making quick trips back and forth between Chatham and Dresden, she could usually
be found in the kitchen, whipping up her favourite Bundt Cake or her well-loved Macaroni and Cheese, always
ready to share with others.

She loved to entertain and took great joy in organizing family get-togethers on the farm by the pool, which inevitably
ended with a sweet ice cream treat. Her deepest joy was being a grandma, and she rarely missed a moment
whether it was hockey games, dance performances, piano recitals, or any activity her grandchildren were part of,
she was always there to support and cheer them on.

Marilyn had many jobs over her lifetime, from working on the farm with Cleo to picking tomatoes or cucumbers to
buy their first coloured tv. Over the years she loved to tell stories of the fun times working with Donna McCorkle at
the Canners and with Mike Mulroney at the Knechtels grocery store in the produce department.

Her greatest love was her husband, Cleo; together they truly showed the meaning of love. This past year has been
a challenge for her, not having Cleo by her side. They are finally reunited and I’m sure she’s already organizing a
heavenly event or dancing with Cleo to their favourite old country songs or enjoying a coffee together just before
ending the day.

They will continue their heavenly walk together “hand in hand”.

“Go Rest High on that Mountain; Mom your work on Earth is Done;
Go to Heaven a-shoutin; Love for the Father and the Son”

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Chatham-Kent Hospice or a charity of your choice.
