Reward increased to $25,000 as suspect sought in Lambton College homicide (Video)

Police say a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a suspect in a homicide investigation following a shooting at a Lambton College campus bar that left a 20-year-old man dead.

Sarnia police were called to the bar on April 10, 2026, at 12:52 a.m. for reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found three people injured, including one with life-threatening injuries and two with non-life-threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene and in hospital, Dane Nisbet was later pronounced dead.

Police say the primary suspect has been positively identified and is believed to be actively evading arrest.

Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers is now offering a cash reward of $25,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. The reward includes a $20,000 increase recently approved by the Sarnia Police Service Board.

“The murder of Dane Nisbet has shaken our community,” police said in a statement.

Anonymous tips can be submitted to Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers by calling 519-332-TIPS (8477) or online at www.p3tips.com.

Police say they have also seen “generous offers to increase the reward” and advised that any additional contributions should be coordinated through Crime Stoppers.

“If those funds are submitted to Crime Stoppers, any changes to the official Crime Stoppers reward levels will be announced,” police said.

They added that anyone considering contributing should begin by contacting Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers, which will provide next steps and coordinate announcements with investigators and the Nisbet family.
