Wallaceburg Minor Hockey hosting girls U13C tryouts in Chatham and Dresden

The Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association is preparing for the upcoming season with tryouts for its girls U13C team later this month in Chatham-Kent.

The association says it is continuing to expand its girls programming, offering more opportunities for development and competitive play as interest in girls hockey grows locally.

Tryouts are scheduled to take place at two locations, including Ken Houston Arena and Memorial Arena.

Sessions are set for Sunday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m. in Dresden, Tuesday, April 28 at 7 p.m. in Chatham, and Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m. back in Dresden.

Organizers say the new U13C team is part of continued growth within the association and reflects increased demand for girls hockey in the community.

“Our Girls teams are getting ready to hit the ice for tryouts and Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association is proud to be icing multiple competitive girls teams this season,” the association said in a statement.

“This is what growth looks like. More opportunities. More development. More incredible girls hockey right here at home.”

The association is encouraging players to register in advance and take part in what it describes as an exciting season ahead.

“Tryouts are just around the corner, and WMHA is the place to be this season. Get signed up, get ready, and come be part of something special. You won’t want to miss what’s about to unfold on home ice with our newest U13 C team,” the statement said.

Registration information is available online through the Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association website, here.
