Suspect arrested in London in Lambton College murder investigation

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting at a Lambton College campus bar earlier this month has been arrested in London, Ont., police said Monday.

Sarnia Police said that on Monday, April 27, 2026, homicide investigators identified a residence in London where the suspect was believed to be hiding. With assistance from the London Police Service, including its Emergency Response Unit, officers contained the home before the suspect surrendered.

Kyaw “Chin” Doe, 24, of Boullee Street in London, Ont., was arrested at the scene and turned over to Sarnia Police. He is being held for bail on charges of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm while prohibited.

Police allege Doe was the primary suspect in a shooting on April 10, 2026, at approximately 12:52 a.m., when officers were called to a Lambton College campus bar for reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, police found three people suffering from gunshot wounds — one with life-threatening injuries and two with non-life-threatening injuries.

Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene and later in hospital, 20-year-old Dane Nisbet was pronounced dead.

Investigators said Doe fled the scene and had been actively evading arrest since that night. A Canada-wide warrant had been issued prior to his arrest.

“The Sarnia Police Service extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dane Nisbet. This has been devastating to them and to our community. We hope that this arrest brings a small measure of comfort, as the grief of Dane’s loss continues to be felt,” said Chief Derek Davis.

Police say they will provide further details during a media scrum scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at 1 p.m. at Sarnia Police headquarters, 555 Christina St. N. Investigators are expected to provide an update and take questions.
