Carol Olive Louise Lane of Wallaceburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the age of 83. Carol is the daughter of the late John Frederick ‘Ted’ & Sedith Grace (Innis) Mills. Beloved mother of the late Donna Jarvis(1987), Dan Lane, Darla Ouellette and David Lane (Nicki). Dear grandmother of Renita, Cameron (Makayla) and Olivia and great grandmother of Donna, Jessica and Avril. Sister of Linda Stewart (the late Robert), Patricia Benn (Richard) and the late Ron Mills (Louise).
Carol passed away at home peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by her children. Carol was a strong willed and vibrant woman who above all else loved her children tremendously. She was a dedicated mother to her four children, but was a neighbourhood mom to many. Her open door policy allowed her to touch many lives. She was a loving, humorous, woman who loved to be generous, laugh, and enjoy music. She would dance to any song of any genre as long as it had a good beat to it. She loved nature and enjoyed her daily routine of feeding the birds and squirrels. She had a passion for collecting owls and was affectionately known in town as the owl lady. She also enjoyed crafting with plastic canvas and created many beautiful pieces. She volunteered for many years at Community Living and was always giving a hand to those in need. She will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited for visitation at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg, from 3-6 pm on May 15. Interment to follow at a later date in Riverview Cemetery.
