Virtual session to highlight AI reading tutor for Lambton Kent families

Families with the Lambton Kent District School Board are being invited to learn more about a new tool supporting early literacy during a virtual information session scheduled for May 5.

The board announced that the session will focus on Amira, a personalized AI reading tutor designed to support young learners by listening as they read aloud and providing real-time, individualized feedback.

According to the board, the tool is intended to complement classroom instruction while helping students build confidence, fluency and foundational reading skills in what it describes as a safe and secure digital environment.

The virtual session is set for Tuesday, May 5 at 7 p.m., and will provide families with an overview and walkthrough of the Amira platform, along with tips for supporting reading at home. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask questions.

Families can join the session online on Teams, here.

“We look forward to connecting with families and sharing how Amira can support students’ reading growth at home and at school,” the board said in a statement.
