Tilbury man charged with impaired driving after early-morning collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 22-year-old Tilbury man is facing impaired driving charges following an early-morning collision on Thursday.

Chatham-Kent police were called to Azar Avenue in Tilbury at approximately 6:30 a.m. on May 7, 2026, for a reported motor vehicle collision.

Police say that through investigation, officers formed grounds to believe the driver involved was operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol. The individual was arrested at the scene and transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters for further testing.

As a result, the accused has been charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg. He was later released with a future court date of June 19, 2026.
