The Chatham-Kent Police Service says residents near St. Ursula School in Chatham may notice an increased police presence and hear realistic sound effects as officers take part in training exercises this week.
Police said the exercises will take place at the school, located at 426 Lacroix St., from May 12 to May 14.
“Members of the public are advised that this is only a training exercise. There is no cause for alarm,” police said in a public advisory issued Tuesday.
Police said the exercises will include realistic sound effects that may be audible to nearby neighbours.
To help ensure safety and allow the training to proceed effectively, police are asking the public to avoid the immediate area while the exercises are underway.
“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as officers take part in this important training,” the advisory said.
