Chatham man arrested twice after allegedly returning to mother’s home

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 37-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing charges after police say he twice returned to a residence in northeast Chatham on Sunday despite being removed from the property earlier in the day.

Chatham-Kent police said officers were first called to the home at about 6:38 a.m. after a woman reported her son had returned to the property after being removed twice the previous day.

Police said the man was arrested inside the residence and charged before being taken to police headquarters and released on a Form 10 with conditions and a future court date.

At about 9:50 a.m., police were called back to the same residence after the man allegedly returned in violation of conditions prohibiting him from attending his mother’s address.

He was arrested again and transported to police headquarters, where he was held for bail.

The man is charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling and failing to comply with an undertaking.
