Man charged after allegedly activating hospital fire alarm in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 52-year-old man is facing a charge after police say a fire alarm was intentionally activated at a hospital in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said officers responded to the incident on Grand Avenue West at about 7:22 p.m. on May 12.

Police allege the suspect activated a fire alarm after visiting the hospital.

A 52-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with false alarm of fire. He was released with a future court date of Aug. 17, 2026.
