With profound sadness, we share that Laura Louise Hooper (née Cook) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the age of 60.
Laura will be forever loved and deeply missed by her sons, Jesse James Hooper and Justin Joseph Hooper, who were the greatest joys of her life.
She was the beloved daughter of Elaine Shirley Taylor (née Brown) and stepfather Charles Edward Taylor, as well as Charles Edward Cook and Marion Viola Cook (née Lodge). She was also a cherished daughter‑in‑law to Sharon Marie Bravon.
Laura will be remembered with love by her siblings: Lynn (Gloria) Cook, Chuck (Johanna) Taylor, Peter (Shelly) Cook, and sister‑in‑law Tami Cameron. She leaves behind her niece Jodie Cook, grand‑niece Alivia, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who will hold her memory close.
Known for her gentle spirit and boundless generosity, Laura was one of the kindest and most selfless souls one could ever meet. She devoted much of her life to caring for the elderly, the sick, and anyone in need. Her compassion was unwavering, and her heart was truly pure.
In the Wallaceburg retail community, Laura was a familiar and friendly face, having worked at Red Apple, Fields, and most recently Dollar Tree, where her warm smile brightened the days of countless customers.
Faith was a cornerstone of Laura’s life. She found comfort and strength in scripture and spent many peaceful hours in Bible study. She also loved baking her delicious desserts and sharing time with family and friends.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” — Psalm 73:26
