Roadways that were previously impacted have reopened, and motorists can now safely travel through the area. Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police Service says it is responding to an active incident on Queen’s Line, just west of Bloomfield Road in Chatham.
In an update issued at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, police said there is a significant police presence in the area as officers address the situation.
“Out of an abundance of caution, residents in the immediate area are being asked to remain inside their homes and shelter in place until further notice,” police said in a statement.
Motorists are also being advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to allow emergency services to operate safely and effectively.
“At this time, there is no further information available for release,” police said.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said updates will be provided as the situation develops and thanked the public for its cooperation.
