Here is a recent post from the Wallaceburg & District Museum:
“Wallaceburg is home to a pretty incredible Canadian “longest-running” claim?
Patterson Motors began in 1921 when Gordon “Pat” Patterson opened Pat’s Garage as an independent vehicle repair facility.
In 1923, Pat moved to 603 James Street (where Westbrook’s Flower Shop is today) and began selling Maxwell and Chalmers vehicles , brands purchased by Walter P. Chrysler shortly thereafter.
Fast forward to today, and Patterson Motors Wallaceburg Ltd (now at 51 McNaughton Ave.) is the longest family run Chrysler dealership in Canada, still in the same family, now run by Pat’s great-grandchild, Melissa.
From its early days at 603 James Street to the modern dealership at 51 McNaughton Ave., it’s a full century of local business history right here in Wallaceburg.
Have any Patterson Motors stories — first car, family photos, or memories?”
Let the Museum know!
