The Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres have added a new physician to their primary care team, with Dr. Allan Morrison joining the organization on a part-time basis.
Dr. Morrison began working at the Chatham and Walpole Island community health centre sites on June 8.
He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and has practised family medicine since January 2011. Most recently, he worked at the Blenheim site of the Chatham-Kent Family Health Team before retiring in February.
“I was interested in working part-time after retiring from my full-time practice and have always enjoyed working with equity deserving populations, so joining CKCHC was a great opportunity to continue helping people achieve positive health outcomes and wellbeing,” Dr. Morrison said.
Executive director Sherri Saunders said the organization is pleased to welcome him to the team.
“we are honoured that Dr. Allan Morrison chose CKCHC to resume his primary care practice in Chatham-Kent. He is passionate about holistic, personalized, evidence-based medicine and has a special interest in thyroid disorders. Dr. Allan Morrison brings exceptional talent to CKCHC, which is a great compliment to the remarkable team we already have in place. We want to thank Dr. Allan Morrison for choosing to join CHC and enabling us to further expand access to primary care and assist in improving the health and wellbeing of the community,” Saunders said.
Dr. Morrison will accept new patients through Health Care Connect at both locations.
