Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team appoints new executive transformation lead

The Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team has named Cory Gosnell as its new executive transformation lead.

The organization, which includes 54 partner organizations and more than 100 individuals involved in its work, aims to coordinate care across the health-care system, including hospitals, home and community care, primary care, long-term care, and social support services.

Gosnell brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in the health sector, including roles with the Ministry of Health, Cancer Care Ontario, acute care organizations and, most recently, as chief operating officer of the Lawson Health Research Institute.

Born, raised and currently living in Chatham-Kent, Gosnell said he is eager to help advance the team’s strategic goals.

“I look forward to stepping into my new role – listening to the needs of the residents of the region and working alongside the incredible healthcare professionals and organizations throughout Chatham-Kent to deliver the best outcomes we can for our community,” Gosnell said.

“Previous experience has taught me that our healthcare system can be overwhelming and complicated and creates challenges for the patients and families who navigate the system, and for those providers who work within the system day in and day out. The opportunity to support meaningful change that helps improve equitable, access to care, and that meets the needs of today while ensuring those resources are available in the future, is an exciting one. And the chance to do that right here in the community that I call home makes it all the more special to me.”

Gosnell will begin the role on June 29.

The Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team’s vision is “Healthy, thriving communities supported by a connected and person-centred system of care.”
