The Director of Education of the Lambton Kent District School Board is congratulating graduates across the district as commencement ceremonies continue.
In a message released Thursday, Gary Girardi recognized the achievements of the Class of 2026 and the support provided by families, caregivers and school communities.
“On behalf of the Lambton Kent District School Board, I want to congratulate each of you on reaching this milestone,” Girardi said.
Addressing parents and caregivers, Girardi said, “this milestone belongs to you, too. You’ve guided, encouraged, worried, cheered, and shown up in countless ways, often behind the scenes.”
He also acknowledged the challenges graduates have faced during their educational journeys.
“You’ve learned in changing environments, adjusted to new expectations, supported one another, and kept moving forward even when things felt uncertain,” Girardi said. “You are a cohort that understands what it means to be flexible, to adapt, and to keep going.”
Girardi encouraged students to trust themselves as they move into the next stage of life, whether through further education, employment, training or other pursuits.
“Congratulations, Classes of 2026. We are proud of you, and we are excited to see where you go next,” he said.
