Drug seizure leads to trafficking and weapons charges (Video)

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A Sarnia man is facing multiple drug and weapons-related charges after police say a search warrant executed in the city uncovered cocaine, cash and a prohibited weapon.

Sarnia Police Service say members of its drug unit, with support from the Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Russell Street South on June 25, 2026, at about 4:24 p.m.

During the search, police say approximately 205 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of about $20,500 and $743.15 in Canadian currency were seized, along with items believed to be associated with drug trafficking.

Police say a man was also found in possession of a conducted energy weapon designed to resemble a flashlight at the time of his arrest.

As a result of the investigation, a 66-year-old man from Sarnia was arrested and held for bail on multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon while prohibited, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
