The Walpole Island First Nation Council is asking residents to help determine where a new multi-purpose recreation court should be built on the territory.
A community survey has been launched to gather feedback on potential locations for the approved 120-by-60-foot facility, which is designed to support a range of activities including basketball, pickleball, volleyball, ball hockey and seasonal outdoor hockey.
Officials say the court is intended to serve as a year-round gathering space promoting health, wellness, recreation and social connection for residents of all ages. It is also expected to support organized sports, youth programming and community events.
Community members are being encouraged to review proposed options and submit feedback through an online survey, with input to help guide the final site selection for the project.
