Nature CK is inviting residents to help plant native trees and plants during a volunteer event at Paw Paw Woods on Saturday.
The pop-up planting event will begin between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on July 4, with volunteers spending several hours planting native species in woodland and prairie areas. Organizers said the length of the event will depend on the number of volunteers who take part.
The planting is aimed at improving wildlife habitat, strengthening biodiversity and enhancing the natural area for future generations.
Nature CK said volunteers are welcome to participate for the entire morning or just part of the event. Anyone interested in taking part is asked to contact the organization so volunteer numbers can be confirmed. Final details will be shared closer to the event.
