Sheila Sarah Katherine Falconer (nee Ewing) of Sarnia and formerly of Wallaceburg passed away peacefully in Sarnia, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at the age of 87. She is reunited with her loving husband Ken Falconer.
Sheila was the daughter of the late Donald and Lena (Carr) Ewing, and the beloved mother of Kim (the late Randy) Lachine and Chris (Lydia) Falconer.
Dear grandmother of Kevyn Lachine (Marianne), Trevor Falconer (Tonya), Janelle (Nick Williams) and Stacey (Matt Sky) and great grandmother of Autumn, Evie and Vali. Sheila is predeceased by her siblings Marion (Don) McNaughton, John (Rose) Ewing and Ronald Ewing. She will be dearly missed by her many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sheila was a wonderful stay-at-home mother while her children were young. After her children were grown she began to work at Libbey St. Clair Glass until her retirement in 1995 and wintering in Texas until 2015 and continuing to summer at Wildwood by the Lake near Erieau. Whenever there was a card game to be played, Sheila was always ready to participate.
Special thanks and appreciation to St. Joseph’s Hospice Sarnia, Bayshore Healthcare Sarnia, and her palliative doctors, Dr. McSweeney and Dr. Kim. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Thursday, July 2 from 10 am until the time of her funeral at 12 pm.
Interment in Dresden Cemetery.
