Wanda Woolman

Many folks in Dresden and places beyond will miss and mourn Wanda Woolman who left us peacefully on Sunday, June 28th at age 78. Much more than a friendly face and an incredibly welcoming person to all who she had met, Wanda Pearl Woolman, will be known best as a Hall of Fame Nanna who lived for and served all needs for her five beautiful grandchildren. Many hours were spent drinking her Pepsi and bundling up to enjoy their minor hockey games and practices. Whether it took place at the rink, ballpark, soccer pitch or school gym or stage, Nanna Wanda could be counted on to cheer and support their efforts.

Wanda had a long-long passion for being an enthusiastic and dedicated fan of her family’s pursuits, be it for harness racing with her father Joe Booth and later, her husband Clark Woolman and being a hockey fan of her husband Clarkie, son Joe and grandchildren Clark and Carly. Equal amounts of love and interest were shared with all the grandchildren.

Wanda was more than a spectator, enjoying many years with friends and family playing BINGO, cards, slotting and caring for her beloved animals, namely dogs and a few horses.

Wanda Woolman was banking professional have served customers of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) for over 30 years. Some of her fondest memorials were growing up on the farm just outside of Dresden and while attending school in Dresden.

Predeceased by her parents Joe and Edith Booth of Dresden and husband of 44 years, Clark Woolman (2013). Wanda remains in the hearts and memories of her daughter Kelly (partner of the late Mark Goodacre) and son Joe Woolman and daughter in-law Amanda of Dresden and her grandchildren, Alexis, Jade, Clark, Jaycee and Carly. Wanda is also mourned by members of the Booth and Ritchie family.

Funeral arrangements remain private.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 4th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Ken Houston Memorial Arena in Dresden.
