Registration is now open for the 2026 Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire Fishing Days at Mitchell’s Bay Marine Park.
The annual children’s fishing derby will take place on July 25 and is open to participants in three age groups: four to seven, eight to 11 and 12 to 16 years old. Fishing is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a barbecue from 11 a.m. to noon and an awards presentation from noon to 1 p.m. Organizers note that all times are approximate.
The event is limited to 65 participants in each age group, with pre-registration required. Registration closes July 15.
Parents registering a child are asked to provide the child’s name, age, parent contact information and indicate whether the child will be fishing from shore or from a boat.
Organizers say registration fees are being covered by event sponsors, and every participant will receive a prize.
