The Chatham-Kent Public Library is warning residents after learning that unknown parties are falsely claiming to offer programs in library spaces and attempting to collect personal information.
In an alert issued by CKPL, the library said the fraudulent activity involves misleading communications directing people to register through unverified links.
“Please do not click on links unless you are certain of the source,” the alert stated.
CKPL is advising residents to contact the library directly to register for any programs, either by calling their local branch, emailing CKPL or visiting in person.
The library is urging caution as it works to prevent the spread of the scam and protect public information.
