Jim Blake is running for Council in Wallaceburg

Wallaceburg’s Jim Blake has filed his nomination papers and is running for Chatham-Kent Council, representing Ward 5 – Wallaceburg.

Blake officially filed on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

“I am a proud, third-generation resident of Wallaceburg,” Blake said on social media.

“My roots are here, and more importantly, my heart is here. Wallaceburg needs proven, stable leadership based on experience and dedication to our community. I have managed workforces of more than 100 people in union and non-union environments. I have built a successful corporate career. I also co-own a local business, The Chatham Voice. Winning both individual and organizational awards for community service.”

Blake added: “I have years of experience in the public sector. I have spent decades building relationships, not fences.”

Blake is the 10th candidate to file in Wallaceburg, joining Brendan Authier, Loree Bailey, Steven Burritt, Mark Childs, Jason Debuck, Brent DeNure, Dave Hyatt, Zac Nicholson and Chris Young.

Both of Wallaceburg’s current Councillors, Carmen McGregor and Aaron Hall, have stated publicly they won’t be seeking re-election.

Election day is Monday, October 26, 2026.
