Single-vehicle collision results in impaired driving charges in Brooke-Alvinston

OPP officials allege: Police have charged an individual following a single-vehicle collision in Brooke-Alvinston.

On July 12, shortly after 9 p.m., members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a collision on Petrolia Line near Nauvoo Road.

A 38-year-old Petrolia resident was charged under the Criminal Code, the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the Highway Traffic Act and the Cannabis Control Act with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus, dangerous operation, possession of a Schedule I substance, failing to remain at the scene, and driving with cannabis readily available.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on Aug. 24.
