Sarnia police seek suspect after woman stabbed in Centennial Park

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: Sarnia police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect after a woman was stabbed in Centennial Park on Monday evening.

Police say they were dispatched to the park at 4:37 p.m. on July 20, 2026, following a report of a stabbing.

Officers located the female victim near the end of George Street with a wound to the back of her upper arm, police say. Patrol officers and the canine unit attended the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The victim was treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

Police say no suspect has been identified. The suspect is described as a white male, 40 to 50 years old, approximately 5-foot-11, wearing long shorts, a dark shirt and a black baseball cap. He was seen fleeing the Centennial Park gazebo area northbound toward the train tracks, police say.

Police are asking anyone who lives in the area or who was in or near Centennial Park around the time of the incident to check any videos or images taken between 4:15 p.m. and 5 p.m.
