OPP officials allege: A man from Enniskillen Township is facing charges following a traffic complaint in the Town of Petrolia.
The Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police says officers responded to a reported traffic complaint on Petrolia Line shortly after 9 p.m. on July 18, 2026.
A 21-year-old Enniskillen Township man was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code, the Liquor Licence and Control Act and the Cannabis Control Act. The charges include operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus, driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor, and driving a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.
Police issued a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment as per statute. He was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on August 26, 2026.
The OPP is urging the public to report impaired, aggressive or careless driving by calling 911 in emergencies, or by calling 1-888-310-1122 for non-emergency complaints.
