A Chatham-Kent Hospice volunteer has been recognized with one of Ontario’s top honours for hospice service.
Sadie Bruette has been named a recipient of the June Callwood Circle of Outstanding Volunteers Award, which celebrates exceptional hospice volunteers across the province who embody the compassion and dedication championed by the award’s namesake, the late journalist and social activist June Callwood.
Chatham-Kent Hospice says Bruette brings comfort and dignity to everyone she meets, quietly helping create warmth and reassurance for those who walk through its doors. Whether greeting people at reception or offering a kind word, the organization says she helps ease moments often filled with worry, grief and uncertainty.
“Sadie represents the very best of hospice volunteering,” said Jessica Smith, Chatham-Kent Hospice Executive Director. “Her kindness, empathy, and unwavering commitment create a welcoming environment where residents, families, and visitors feel seen, supported, and cared for. We are incredibly proud to see her recognized with this well-deserved honour.”
Chatham-Kent Hospice extended its congratulations and gratitude to Bruette for her outstanding service.
