Walpole Island First Nation Chief and Council is inviting community members 55 and older to an information session on developing a custom elections code.
The session, part of a new shorter survey initiative on the Custom Elections Act, is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Algonquin Seniors Centre rec room.
Organizers say the session will allow community members to learn about the process of developing a custom WIFN election code, ask questions, and share their thoughts, with feedback helping identify community values and priorities. Paper copies of a community survey will be available, and those who complete and submit theirs will be entered into a draw for door prizes. A complimentary dinner will be provided during the discussion.
All WIFN community members aged 55 and older are welcome to attend. More information is available by calling 519-627-1481 or visiting walpoleislandfirstnation.ca.
