Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 66-year-old Tilbury woman is facing impaired driving charges after officers on general patrol noticed a vehicle exhibiting poor driving behaviour early Friday morning.
Chatham-Kent police officers were patrolling the area of Victoria Street in Tilbury at approximately 3:36 a.m. on July 24 when they observed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Officers said they formed grounds to suspect the driver was impaired by alcohol and administered an approved screening device, which the driver failed. She was then arrested for having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams.
The woman was taken to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters to provide further breath samples. She was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while exceeding the legal blood alcohol concentration of 80 milligrams. She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on September 2, 2026.
