Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 32-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with impaired driving after police responded to a report of impaired driving early Friday morning.
Chatham-Kent police were called to the area of Merrit Avenue at approximately 12:10 a.m. on July 24. Officers located the vehicle in question and initiated a traffic stop. Through their investigation, police said they formed grounds to believe the driver was impaired by alcohol.
The woman was arrested and brought to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters for further testing. She was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while exceeding the legal blood alcohol concentration of 80 milligrams. She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on August 31, 2026.
