Huron Shores Area Transit (HSAT) advises riders that the Route 1 Express service between Sarnia and Grand Bend via Lambton Shores will be discontinued effective Monday, July 27, 2026.
The seasonal Route 1 Express service was introduced to provide additional capacity during the summer months in anticipation of increased demand from seasonal workers and other riders travelling between Sarnia and Grand Bend, with limited but historically high usage stops in Lambton Shores.
However, ridership has been significantly lower than in previous years or as anticipated, and the additional vehicle is not needed.
The cancellation applies only to the seasonal Express service.
Regular Route 1 service will continue to operate without change, providing three return trips daily, seven days a week, between Sarnia and Grand Bend according to the published schedule.
