Lambton OPP investigating serious single-vehicle collision near Alvinston, roads closed

Update: Road closures are in place following a serious single-vehicle collision in the Township of Brooke-Alvinston.

On July 31, 2026, at approximately 7:19 a.m., members of the Lambton County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, alongside Brooke Fire Rescue and Lambton County Emergency Medical Services, responded to a report of a serious single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Courtright Line and Nauvoo Road.

As a result of the collision, Courtright Line is closed between Old Walnut Road and River Road, while Nauvoo Road is closed between Millpond Avenue and Oil Springs Line. The closures are expected to remain in place for a prolonged period to allow for police investigation.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Lambton County OPP thanked the public for their cooperation and patience, adding that updates will be provided as they become available.

OPP officials allege: Two roads near Alvinston are closed after a serious single-vehicle collision Thursday morning, Lambton County OPP say.

In a release issued at 7:47 a.m., police said Courtright Line is closed between Old Walnut Road and River Road, while Nauvoo Road is closed between Millpond Avenue and Oil Spring Line.

Emergency crews are responding to the collision, and injuries are being assessed, police said.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes, with a prolonged closure expected during the investigation and cleanup efforts.
