St. Clair Township announces holiday hours, road closures for Civic Holiday weekend

St. Clair Township has announced changes to its hours of operation and service schedules for Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, the Civic Holiday.

All offices at the Civic Centre will be closed Monday, Aug. 3, and will return to regular business hours on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

The Moore Sports Complex and Moore Museum will also be closed Monday, Aug. 3, and will reopen Tuesday, Aug. 4. The Sombra Museum, which is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, will resume regular hours Wednesday, Aug. 5.

The St. Clair Parkway Golf Course and Parkway Bar & Grill will be open regular hours on the Civic Holiday Monday.

Two road closures are planned for Saturday, Aug. 1. In Port Lambton, St. Clair Parkway will be closed between William Street and First Street from 11 a.m. to approximately noon for the Gala Days Parade.

In Corunna, the Captain Kidd Days parade will run from approximately 10:45 a.m. to noon, starting at Thompson Gardens and heading west on Beckwith, south on Lyndoch, east on Fane, and continuing down Fane to the Colborne entrance of CAP park.

The St. Clair Fire Department is also reminding residents to follow the township’s fireworks bylaw over the long weekend. Fireworks may only be set off on Victoria Day, Canada Day and the Civic Holiday, as well as three days before and four days after those holidays, and only between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Fireworks are strictly prohibited on township or public property without prior written consent from the township or property owner, and residents are reminded to follow all necessary safety precautions.
